Take your recyclable materials to a center which pays for them. The easiest way to make money recycling is simply to find a local center which will pay for your newspapers, bottles and cans, and bring them in when they fill up your space. You can easily expand your recyclable booty by asking neighbors to give you their old recyclables, or drawing up advertisements in the neighborhood and arranging to pick up recyclables from a number of different houses.

Look for old or reused computers that people are upgrading to newer models. The circuit boards, screens, and other elements can be removed and resold. A number of online groups, such as UsedComputer.com, buy used computers and refurbish them for sale elsewhere (see Resources below.) In addition, some recycling agencies accept used ink cartridges from printers. Check with local businesses to see if they are upgrading their systems.

You can donate your furniture and clothing to Good Will for a tax deduction, or you can give them to consignment shops to be sold from the store. The store keeps a percentage of the sale for doing the work of finding buyers, but you can still make more than you would at agarage sale or flea market. Most large cities have downtown areas full of consignment shops, and this is a great way to make money by recycling.

    2. Large Structures

Do you have an old barn or storage shed that you’d just love to get rid of? Make money from the sale by fixing it up and selling it as a refurbished structure. This is a great way to promote recycling and to make a few bucks, and it doesn’t cost much to buy paint, new screws, bolts and other things that can make the structure look attractive again.

    3. Antiques

You’d be surprised at the great deals you can find in antique shops. Often, their owners don’t have any idea as to their value, and you can make a significant return by recycling them on eBay or other auction sites. You might get a few duds, but every once in a while you’ll find a magnificent piece that makes a significant product. As you continue to do this, you’ll gain more experience and an eye for selecting product.

    4. Scrap Metal

If you’re disappointed in the going price for recycling scrap metal in your city, you can try to beat the prices with online recycling centers, such as Recycleinme.com. It connects you with a host of buyers who might be interested in what you have to sell, and you can also unload other materials depending on the site you use. This is a great way to get into recycling without worrying about which center will take what.
