The Zoetrope is a vertical-axis wind turbine (VAWT) made from materials commonly found at your local hardware store and a few easily purchased online, and Applied Sciences has made the decision to “open source” the turbine for everyone who wants to try their hand at making one. With videos and a downloadable PDF construction guide, it looks like anyone with a menial amount of handyperson abilities could make one for themselves.

I've looked hard to find information for us regular folks on conserving and going green. Most of the posted material requires "cutting through your ceiling" for panels, spending thousands on "vegetable oil run cars" erecting windmills, remodeling your home from the ground up or installing a wood stove and investing in a lumber mill to supply yourself with firewood. I am going to make every effort to share tips, ideas, information, links, views, instructions and ways us regular folks can go green without spending a fortune.
